RULES and REGULATIONS

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Show is open to SC Meat Goat Project participants ages 5-19 years old as of January 1, #current_year.
All goats must be weighed.
Scales will close 30 minutes prior to start of judging.

Market (Lottery) Wethers (5 classes):
      Only SC Meat Goat Project participants will be allowed to participate in Market Wether Classes
      with a wether that has a Project Lottery wether ear tag. No “open” wethers are allowed.
SC4ME (Born & Bred) Wethers (5 classes):
      All SC4ME wethers must be tagged with an SC4ME tag and registered to the exhibitor through
      the SC Meat Goat Project.
Project Market Does (5 classes):
      Open to SC 4H/FFA members and out-of-state participants.
      Only one doe per exhibitor per class will be allowed. Each exhibitor may weigh in up to 6 does.
      Exhibitors with more than one doe in a class, will be required to choose which doe he/she wants
      to show in that class.
Showmanship:
      Showmanship is open SC Meat Goat Project participants. Exhibitors can show any goat
      in Showmanship that they have entered in Market Wethers (Lottery), SC4ME (Born & Bred)
      Wethers or Market Doe classes.

The youth must be able to maintain control their animal(s) at all times during this event. Parents are not allowed in the Show Ring during judging. Parents entering the ring during judging will result in the exhibitor being disqualified.
Cloverbud exhibitors may request a Senior exhibitor to accompany them in Market Wethers, SC4ME Wethers or Market Doe classes only. NO assistants will be allowed in Showmanship. The assistant is only allowed to step in and control the goat for the safety of the exhibitor(s) or the goat. Assistants are not allowed to lead, set-up or brace goats.
The fair/show manager reserves the right to make decisions concerning or changing rules, regulations, and/or health requirements. Any animal exhibiting any significant visible symptoms of disease or sickness will not be allowed to be unloaded from the vehicle or remain on the fair/show grounds.
All decisions by the Judge are final.

ENTRY REGISTRATION
Registration is required during the Open or Late Entry Registrations Periods.
        Register by the preferred method by using the Online Entry System
        You may also register using a current 4H/FFA Meat Goat entry form.

                Entry forms received during later registration must be accompanied by the $25 Late Fee.

LATE ENTRY REGISTRATIONS
Entry forms received during late registration must be accompanied by the $25 Late Fee.
Late fees may be charged to a major credit card (MasterCard or Visa) or money order. Checks will not be accepted during the Late Entry Registration Period.
Absolutely no entries will be accepted following the close of the registration period.

REGISTRATION NOTES
Market Classes will be broken into 3-5 weight classes depending on number of registered participants. Classes will be determined the day of the show.
Either animal may be shown in showmanship.

PASSES & PARKING
Exhibitors will enter through Gate 5 on George Rogers Blvd.
Vehicle hang-tags must be purchased at the time of entry registration, as they will not be available at check-in, in the barns, or from the Superintendent. Junior exhibitors receive one (1) free hang-tag and may purchase additional vehicle hang-tags only at time of entry registration. Please anticipate your needs and order accordingly. Gate 5 vehicle hang-tags will be mailed to the Exhibitor. You must have a Gate 5 hang-tag displayed in vehicle in order to enter Gate 5.

NOTICES
The show superintendent reserves the right to make decisions concerning or changing rules, regulations, and/or health requirements. Any animal exhibiting significant visible symptoms of disease or sickness will not be allowed to be unloaded from the vehicle or remain on the grounds.

FEEDING AND WASHING
Exhibitors must furnish feed and water for their animal. Washing areas are to be kept clean of manure, shaving and supplies when you are finished using wash rack.

CONDUCT
Youth are expected to govern themselves according to the FFA and 4-H Code of Ethics.
